First Day of School

So today was an extremely big day here at the Matulich household. Our little boy started Kindergarten! Of course he has been anxiously awaiting this day for about 2 and a half months now, and is so excited to be going to the big boy school.
Kaleb is enrolled in what is called a Transitional Kindergarten. It follows all the same curriculum of a normal class, however there are only 10-12 students to 3 teachers! This will help with his speech, and to mainstream him into a standard classroom.

Kaleb getting ready to go

Getting all his new school supplies has been a highlight, and Kaleb even picked out a cool green (of course!) backpack that if you look closely you can see a little frog which he loves! For graduating Pre-School, Yaya and Papa gave Kaleb $10 to do with as he pleases, which he hasn't decided yet what to get. Thankfully fans cost a lot more than $10!

Kaleb and his Teacher Erin

I am so excited to have Kaleb finally be challenged! (I think he is too!) He loves his new teacher, and when I told him that she used to play basketball, he thought that was the coolest thing ever.
The first day ended great, and Teacher Erin said that while he was a little restless in circle time, all things considered, he was actually pretty good. There was also an incident where he fell in the bathroom and hit his cheek, but he was a trooper, and it didn't seem to phase him too bad.
When I picked him up at noon, and asked if he liked his new school, his reply was simple... "yeah, it's cool."
This kid is so beyond his years!

Congratulations Kaleb on your promotion to Kindergarden. Just 13 more years to college. I know you will do very well in school and I am very proud of you. Take care and Love,
